About

For over 10 years I worked for and ran Childnet International, a non-profit organisation established to "help make the internet a great and safe place for children". First as Development Manager (98-03) and then as Chief Executive (03 to December 08).

Whilst at Childnet I worked with the trustees and managed a superb team and between us we pioneered a number of programmes and policy responses to the issue of children and technology both in the UK and around the world. During the 10 years I was with Childnet we won numerous independent awards, supported programmes throughout the world and the organisation continues to have an enviable reputation for working directly with children and young people and producing outstanding impactful resources.

Today I work as a consultant focusing on some of the E-Safety issues I addressed whilst I was leading Childnet, but I’ve also expanded my range of services to include wider safeguarding training, media literacy training in schools, design and communications services (including writing for the web), speaking at conferences and a range of training services. Because of my experience in raising funds I am also being asked to provide fundraising advice and training so non-profit groups can secure income (both grant and earned) to keep their urgent work going.

Most recently my focus has been on working with those who work with vulnerable young people and since 2010 I have been developing resources looking at how young people who are excluded are using social media.

If you want to find out about my wider interests and values you can search for me on Facebook or e-mail me and I can send you a full copy of my CV.

Since 2009 I have worked with the following organisations either as a trainer, consultant, conference speaker or advisor.
